Little Dreams

Saturday, September 17th, 2005

Little dreams of you
Make nights alone, less lonely,
And the warmth of dawn
Comes over me more gently,
Though it comes far too quickly.

Life

Saturday, September 17th, 2005

A life should not be judged by years alone,
Nor by the weight of gold a man might win,
For gold may weigh him down just like a stone,
And years devoid of love will wear him thin.

The measure of a man must not be pride,
In accolades from sycophantic friends,
Though praise lifts spirits like the rising tide,
The rocks of truth await them in the end.

A life should follow laws of moon and sun,
And move along it’s course from day to day,
As though it’s not a race that must be won,
But rather, just a game that we may play.

And when the final sunset glows no more,
Step gently, with a smile, through life’s last door.

Wind Cats

Saturday, September 17th, 2005

Watch the wind blowing
Little footprints on water,
Like the ghosts of cats,
Tapping feet on the surface
To let us know they are there.

Tango

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005

Tango,
A dance for two,
Giving and receiving
The passions we nurture, to stay
Alive.
We two,
Dancing with words,
Hearing our life’s music
Beating out the rhythms of our
Passion.

I See You

Monday, September 12th, 2005

When I close my eyes,
I see you, dressed in sunlight,
Moving through forests
Like the fingers of morning,
Waking flowers with your touch.

I hear your laughter,
As it tumbles through the trees,
Bubbling like a brook
That has an eternity
To dance among the lilies.

Though my eyes are closed,
I feel the touch of your breath
Upon my eyelids.
I taste your scent deep within
The center of my being.

I feel you near me,
And the warmth of your body,
Like sunlight’s first kiss.
But I fear that I’ll lose you,
If I should open my eyes.
