She Moves Like Morning
Monday, September 25th, 2006She moves like morning,
Like first light, creeping into
My closed, sleeping mind,
Awakening the passion
That keeps all my days alive.
She moves like morning,
Like first light, creeping into
My closed, sleeping mind,
Awakening the passion
That keeps all my days alive.
Even starlight blinks
Against the beauty she brings,
Walking through the night.
Come walk beside me,
And hold my hand to guide me.
Like the distant stars,
My eyes can not bear to look
Upon your beauty
For more than the time it takes
The stars, and my eyes, to blink.
Surf in the moonlight,
Glowing in the night like dreams,
Too distant to touch.
Water rumbling on the sand,
Like voices in the darkness.
Telling their stories
That neither begin, nor end,
Rolling on and on,
Endlessly as the journey
My heart would make for your love.
It is just a dance,
This thing we do together,
You move, and I move,
Yet, the parts of us that love,
Can never be together.
So we touch, gently,
And whisper our words of love,
And deep in your heart,
You wonder if you’ve opened
A door you can’t bear to close.
I know
We sometimes see
Only what we look for,
So what do you see, when you look
At me?
Perhaps
It’s just the light,
Or my hopes reflected,
But it looked like happiness in
Your eyes.
