About

What shall I say about me? Relatively speaking, I’m old, as much by having lived my years fully and completely, as by the number of years I’ve lived. And, I’ve lived all around the United States, for work and for fun. I’ve sailed on both coasts, and a few other seas, and done a lot of things that I never thought I would, just because I felt the inclination. Mostly though, I’ve loved, and I’ve learned the most important lesson that anyone can ever learn about loving. It isn’t about the love you get, though that is a joy. It’s about reaching a point in your life from which you can let the love that’s in you, radiate outwards without expecting it to return. It’s about knowing that the greatest gift you can give yourself is the opportunity to love, without reservation or condition, as often and as richly as you can. It’s a love that increases as it is passed from you to others, and then on to others still. Pass it on, it costs you nothing, and it will bring more joy than you can imagine.

Now, about this little garden, and please excuse the undertone of vanity. For a very long time, I’ve let myself express the feelings I have about love and life in written form. The poems are mostly about women; some I’ve known well; some, only for moments. Some, I saw in crowded rooms, but never spoke to, and they have no idea they provided me with inspiration, or were immortalized on a slightly damp bar napkin. It’s a little like admiring someone else’s flowers but not actually picking them.

An amazingly generous, and very talented lady, has allowed me the space to plant this garden, and I’ve dedicated it to one of the major players in Celtic lore, Lugh. He was talented in virtually all of the arts, and has been an inspiration in my belief system for the last 40 years or so. I can’t thank her enough for the opportunity, and if you want some really good poetry, follow the link to ‘Dirty Little Secrets”, you’ll be glad you did. Now you have the opportunity to judge whether I’m raising flowers or weeds. Feel free to leave a comment one way or the other, I welcome them all.
